Kammie Jacobs, 1991-93
Jacobs was an outstanding athlete at East Valley High School in Spokane. She also played women’s club soccer and her athletic success attracted the recruiting attention of CCS soccer coach Cor van deer Meer. CCS had started a women’s soccer program and Kammie quickly became a star performer in building the new program. CCS was a two-year college playing against all four-year universities in the Northwest Collegiate Soccer Conference (NCSC). Jacobs was a fast and determined midfielder who made the All-Conference team in both 1991 and 1992. She helped lead the CCS team to the conference title in 1992, playing alongside standouts like Kim Socolofsky, Marie Trimp, team captain Steph Middleton, and conference MVP Veronica Hagemann. After competing two years for the Sasquatch, Kammie continued her important role in the women’s soccer program by becoming Cor’s assistant coach for four years. She moved on to club and high school soccer coaching and for five years was head coach of the girl’s program at Lewis and Clark High School. Kammie and her husband Kent have two children, Lindsey and Jeremy, and she has continued her successful career as a registered nurse.
