About the Program

Paris is a global hub for art, fashion, history, and international relations. The city provides students with access to world-renowned institutions. Museums like the Louvre and Musée d'Orsay, vibrant neighborhoods showcase centuries of architectural and cultural evolution. Studying in Paris allows students to immerse themselves in the French language and lifestyle, engage with diverse perspectives, and explore European history firsthand. Whether attending lectures or enjoying café conversations along the Seine, Paris fosters a unique and inspiring environment for learning and exploration.

Faculty & Courses

For the Paris program, you have the option to pick one of the classes offered by two SFCC faculties or take them both. This is up to the student and their academic needs (also make sure to check with financial aid).

FRCH 121

Bonjour! My name is Eddy Cuisinier and I will be teaching French during our inaugural Paris Summer Program. I am originally from Paris, where I grew up until I moved to the US. I think the city has so much to offer and my goal is to show you what this city is from a Parisian point of view. Otherwise, before being at SFCC, I was quite involved with Study Abroad at my last school and saw first-hand the benefits of such an experience for my students. This is why I am so excited about this program and what it has to offer you. Allez le Sasquatch!!! (Go Sasquatch!!!)

Háu wíyakA wíyakA - Hello students and learners.

My name is Khalil Islam-Zwart, and I'll be teaching Intercultural Communication (CMST 227) and a number of special topics courses during our time in Paris. As someone who has taught about culture and communication and explored a number of European countries and cities, including Paris, I'm thrilled to offer a course where the city itself becomes our classroom. From daily reflections on identity and culture to service learning with Parisian organizations, every moment in Paris will help you connect what we are learning to your lived experience. This isn't just about visiting or sightseeing (though we'll do some of that too), it's about learning to see and listen with intercultural awareness and humility. I'm excited to explore Paris with you, one conversation at a time.

Pinámaya,

Khalil
