  2. Pin point how you are accessing the information, for example, print, web, library database.

  3. Identify type of source you have, for example, book, magazine, newspaper, journal, website article, video, audio, image, artwork, interview.

  4. Find citation formula for your format and source type, for example, print book, website, newspaper article.

  5. Identify information need for formula, for example, author or creator, article title, title of whole resource, publication date, publisher or sponsor, page numbers, URL or web address.

  6. Plug information into formula, paying attention to details and being precise.
