Spokane Community College Selects Jenni Martin for Vice President of Instruction

Jenni Martin, who has been serving as interim vice president for instruction, was selected to serve in that role permanently after a nationwide competitive selection process. This will take effect on July 1.

SCC Jenni MartinMartin has worked at the Spokane community colleges for 17 years in various capacities including, dean of Extended Learning, assistant dean of Adult Basic Education, WorkFirst manager and adjunct faculty. Prior to working at CCS, she was employed at Eastern Washington University (EWU) as the head women’s soccer coach and also served as faculty at EWU and CCS. She has a master of education degree in adult education from EWU and earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Gonzaga University.

“Vice president Martin has energetically served the students and communities of SCC for 17 years,” said SCC President Ryan Carstens. “She is a student-focused leader with a strong commitment to collaboratively develop and sustain quality programs that are responsive to community needs.”

“I am honored and humbled to be chosen as the next vice president of instruction at such a vital and storied institution in our community,” Martin said. “We have great opportunity to continue to deliver and develop high-quality programs to greater serve the Spokane community.”
