Community Colleges of Spokane Women’s Track and Field team claim 23rd NWAC Title

[GRESHAM, Ore.] The Community Colleges of Spokane women’s track and field team claimed their 23rd Northwest Athletic Conference title by close to 100 points two weeks ago at Mt. Hood Community College.

Emma Glanzer led the women’s championship meet with 29.5 points and was named the Women’s High Point Athlete of the meet. She participated in the triple jump, long jump, high jump, 200 meter and was part of CCS’s second place 4x100 relay team.

John Spatz was named NWAC Women's Track & Field Coach of the Year. 

All CCS athletes who placed in the top three of their events received NWAC All-American titles.
Shauna Elliott (1.51m) and Glanzer (1.41m) took the podium for their high jump scores, and again for their triple jump scores. Elliot at 10.85m and Glanzer 10.19m. 

Madison Carr (36.42m) and Isabella Carpenter (35.23m) took second and third place in discus. 

Kaley Bohl (4:44.99), Camille Ussher (4:47.31) and Mary Nakamura (5:00.86) took all three All-American titles for Spokane in the 1,500m event. 

Spokane seized the win in the 800m event with Bohl (2:20.53) in first, Ussher (2:24.64) in second and Emmalyne Jimenez (2:26.81) in third. 

Lizbeth Soto (58.72) took second in the 400m alongside Afton Wood (1:06.19) who took second in the 400m hurdles.

Sophia Ferraro (18:43.43) and Nakamura (19:03.70) place second and third in the 5000m.
