Spokane Community College Hosts Trade Discovery Day

Spokane Community College (SCC) will host its Trade Program Discovery Day October 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the SCC Building 5 gym.

The event brings together the community, faculty, and potential students for a hands-on look at SCC’s 16 technical and trade programs. Visitors will be able to:

  • Meet instructors and current students
  • Explore two programs through in-depth tours with hands-on activities
  • Learn how to apply and register for upcoming classes
  • Access comprehensive support services, including financial aid guidance, disability accommodations, veteran resources, and more.
This free event is open to the public, with a special emphasis on high school students, career changers, and community members seeking a two-year degree, workforce certificates, new profession, or opportunities to enhance existing skills.

Trade Discovery Day brings our community together to explore opportunities in high-demand career fields and connect directly with the people and programs that make those opportunities real.,” said Ashley Purdin, SCC’s Dean of Technical Education. “Our goal is to help every person who walks through the door imagine their future and take the first step toward it.

Attendees are encouraged to register in advance through SCC’s online registration form.
In addition to the fall event, SCC also hosts a Trade Discovery Day each spring to provide more opportunities for community engagement.
