The recent wildfires in Eastern Washington have affected students, employees, and communities across our region. As the long recovery begins, Spokane Colleges is assessing the impact and need among our students, employees, and their families to ensure appropriate resources are available to help meet the needs.
The Spokane Colleges Wildfire Response page serves as a central source for information and resources, including emergency assistance, academic flexibility, mental health and wellness services, technology resources, donation drives, community resources, and information about upcoming educational seminars from the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner hosted by Spokane Colleges.
Gift Cards for Students
Spokane Colleges is now collecting gift card donations to provide direct assistance to students who have been impacted by the Spokane Complex wildfires.
Three employees and 21 students have lost their homes in the wildfires. For students facing hardship as a result of the fires, including the immense challenges that come with losing a home, gift cards can provide immediate help with things like groceries, transportation and other essential needs.
Community members, employees and others who would like to contribute can drop off gift card donations at the Cashier's offices at Spokane Community College and Spokane Falls Community College.
