A visiting Fulbright Scholar from Morocco is in Spokane and adding depth to the Global Education program at the Community Colleges of Spokane with his interest in world population mobility and its effects on the social structure of society.
Mohammed Boudoudou, Ph.D., is a sociologist and philosopher who has provided several guest lectures in geography, sociology and communications studies and has engaged with students in class discussions and during office hours. He is at CCS for the 2018-2019 academic year.
“Dr. Boudoudou’s presence enhances the mission of the Global Education office and that of both campuses as we strive to make the world a better place, one student at a time,” said Hadda Estrada, dean of the Global Education and Strategic Partnerships at CCS.
His upcoming public lectures include one at the Spokane Public Library, 3324 S. Perry, at 3:30 on Sunday, Feb. 3; one at the Spokane Falls Community College intercultural week at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, in the Student Union Building lounge; one for the Spokane Community College Arab Club at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27.
Boudoudou received his Ph.D. from a top-rated institution of social science in Paris (Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales), and he has been teaching for more than 30 years, including five years at the Tohoku University Graduate School of International Cultural Studies in Japan.
He has extensive academic and research management experience in The Netherland, the United Kingdom and Morocco, and he has been a consultant on migrants to various human rights’ organizations and European governments such as Spain, Italy, France, Belgium, The Netherland, Germany and Canada.
