Todd Woodard new president of CCS Foundation board

Todd Woodard, director of Marketing and Public Affairs for Spokane International Airport, recently was elected president of the Community Colleges of Spokane Foundation board of directors. Woodard succeeds Rob Dietz, senior vice president of Commercial Loans at Banner Bank, who continues to serve on the Foundation’s executive committee as immediate past president.

Other officers elected to the executive committee were Steve Trabun, regional business manager at Avista, elected vice president; Kathy Pearson, vice president, financial advisor and corporate retirement director at Morgan Stanley, elected board secretary; and Sean Hoagland, director of compensation and benefits at Potlatch Corp., elected board treasurer.

Pearson is a new board member for the Foundation. The other new board members are Erik Larson, supervisor of the state Department of Children, Youth and Families; Jacob Parks, chief operating officer and partner of Profitable Ideas Exchange; and Gail Stevenson, community member and former Executive Director of the CCS Foundation.

The Community Colleges of Spokane Foundation believes that education helps students achieve goals, gain financial stability, and strengthen the local community. In the last year, the Foundation awarded scholarships to 544 students, raised $744,000 for CCS programs and provided 1,453 students with emergency aid.

Community Colleges of Spokane is a 12,300-square-mile state community college district that includes Spokane Falls Community College, Spokane Community College and six rural education sites, serving residents in Pend Oreille, Stevens, Whitman, Ferry and parts of Lincoln counties.
